Back at Google I/O in May, Google announced two new messaging applications, Allo and Duo. As I’m sure you know, Duo has been released to the public for about a month now, while Allo, initially bound for a summer release, has been silent.
Over on Twitter today, Evan Blass (@evleaks) posted a tweet saying “Hello, Allo (launches this week).” Rumors are that it will launch September 21—the official last day of summer.

In case you haven’t heard, Allo is a messaging app from Google that uses your phone number instead of your Google account. This means much easier communication. In addition, Allo includes the brand new Google Assistant, smart replies, and new sticker packs.
