Just days before the scheduled CES announcement, Qualcomm has accidentally leaked the details of the next Google Tango phone, the Asus Zenfone AR, in a blog post.
The Asus Zenfone AR will use the relatively new Snapdragon 821 as its processor and will also be equipped for use with the Daydream viewer. These features make it the first phone to utilize both of Google’s alternate reality programs. Veteran leaker @evleaks provided an image to go along with the leak.

The problem is that while VR is a great platform for entertainment, Tango has unused potential. Tango has yet to provide a “killer app” that will show its usefulness to consumers. Releasing the next Tango phone right now just seems poorly timed. That is, unless, Google has been hiding something from us all this time.
For now, Qualcomm has deactivated its blog link. When the phone is officially announced, the link should again be live.
