Poll: How much did you pay for your current smartphone?

It’s been over two years since we did our last poll like this. Since then, we’ve had more and more $1,000 smartphones come out but also a fair amount of solid budget phones like the Pixel 3a at $399. It seems that, despite the increasing price of flagship phones, the smartphone market is still quite dispersed over many different price points, maybe even more so than before. It’s almost hard to buy a bad phone now. Anyway, how much money did you shell out for the smartphone you’re using right now. Vote and discuss in the comments below.

Weekend Poll: What is your favorite Made by Google product of 2019?

Nearly two weeks ago, Google announced its new lineup of Made by Google hardware. This included Stadia, Google’s cloud gaming service; Pixel Buds (2nd Gen), truly wireless earbuds; Pixelbook Go, a premium yet traditional clamshell Chromebook; Nest Mini, a more powerful and versatile Home Mini; Nest Wifi, a Google Wifi router and Google Home speaker combined; and, of course, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, Google’s latest flagship smartphones.

Weekend Poll: What percentage of your apps target an older version of Android?

With Google’s recent Play Store policy mandating that all new apps published to the Play Store and all app updates target at least Android 8.0, I’m curious as to how many of the apps installed on your primary device target an older Android version (or API). To find out, there’s a nifty app on the Play Store that lets you do so.

Weekend Poll: Would you give up the selfie camera for no notch?

Notches. Some absolutely hate them. Some are okay with it but keep the area blacked out. Some don’t mind them at all. Notches have been essential in getting a bezel-less display—keeping aside the fact that some still have chins—while still housing the front-facing camera, speakers, and sensors. Some are as big as the Pixel 3 XL’s and some are as small as the Essential PH-1’s.

Weekend Poll: Do you use a blue light filter for your phone?

Commonly branded as ‘night mode,’ a blue light filter does exactly what the name says—it filters the blue light of your phone by turning your screen to an amber-like color. By filtering the blue light of your smartphone, it can make it easier to look at your screen or read in the dark and can even help you fall asleep more easily. Many phones nowadays come with this basic feature built-in; however, users of older devices may have to resort to a third-party app such as Twilight to get this functionality.

Poll: Do you own a Google Home?

The Google Home is a fantastic device in my opinion. Powered by the Google Assistant, it’s definitely a product that evolves and gets better over time. I own two Google Homes (one regular and one Mini), and probably my favorite feature about them is the instant access to music you get just with your voice. Speaking of music, Google also released its $399 Google Home Max smart speaker at its October event. It has been a while since our last poll, so I wanted to ask if you guys also own any of Google’s smart speakers. Vote below!

Weekend poll: How much did you pay for your current smartphone?

With the new Galaxy Note 8 costing over $900 and even the upcoming iPhone 8 that will likely be priced at over $1000, smartphones have become increasingly expensive. Anyway, I wanted to do a poll on how much money did you shell out for the smartphone you’re using right now. Vote and discuss in the comments below.
