[Finally] Nexus 6 receives official Android 7.0 Nougat

Android 7.0 Nougat officially was released exactly 6 weeks ago to a number of Nexus devices. Those included the Nexus 5X, 9 (WiFi), and several others. A little while after that, Google tweeted that the Nexus 6 and 9 (LTE) would be receiving Nougat updates “in the coming weeks.” After three weeks since that statement, Android 7.0 Nougat is finally rolling out to Nexus 6 owners.

I myself use the 6 as my daily driver and am absolutely relieved that it has finally received the update after running Nougat Beta 5 (and the July 5th security patch!) since July.

According to Android Police, the update appears to be hitting all Nexus 6 devices worldwide, regardless of whether they’re enrolled in the beta program or not. They also contain the latest, October 5th security patch.

If, for whatever reason you don’t see the update right away, either enroll in the “Android Beta Program” (recommended) using the source below, or you can flash it either as an OTA or a factory image.
