More Moto M2 specs leak, reveals a smaller 4.6″ screen

We recently posted about the Moto M2, that is rumored to be launching in India this October. It seems that the rumor bandwagon is yet to stop, with more details leaking ahead of the official unveiling of the device.

Now, we also know that the smaller variant will have a Mediatek Helio P10 processor, while the larger one will sport a Mediatek Helio P20 processor.

We had speculated about how the device will come in two variants in India, followed by a worldwide release later. It seems that it will not sport the same screen sizes, which means that the smaller and cheaper variant will also have a smaller battery in it.

What we know

So far, here is what we know:

  1. The smaller Moto M2 will sport a 4.6″ FHD panel, will have a smaller battery, and will have 4 GB RAM and 32 GB of onboard storage.
  2. The larger Moto M2 will have a 5.5″ FHD display, with a larger battery, 6 GB RAM, and 64 GB of storage on it.

Motorola is said to be going with a Mediatek Helio P20 processor for this phone.

Older processor on the smaller Moto

As far as the processor goes, here are the two chips on this device:

  1. On the smaller one, the SoC is: MediaTek MT6755 (Cortex A53 – ARMv8)
  2. On the larger one, the SoC is: MediaTek MT6755T (Cortex A53 – ARMv8)

As far as the other details go, it will likely be a Flipkart exclusive in India, as that is how the last tie-up was, and Motorola is likely going to continue selling it online first, followed by a release in brick and mortar stores in a couple of weeks.

We also have word that the commission for offline sellers might be increased, as the likes of Oppo and Vivo are giving a tight competition to Moto in the offline sector.
