Xiaomi has released its Mi Calculator app on the Play Store for all Android devices 4.1 and up.
The app is different from most manufacturer calculator apps: it has a wide range of features, from currency conversion to trigonometric functions. While most calculator apps only offer addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, the Mi calculator app has a scientific calculator for last-minute number crunching.
There’s also a mortgage calculator, but the results are only in Chinese yuan, so you’ll have to used the (conveniently bundled) currency conversion function to turn it into your currency of preference.
For some reason, Xiaomi has decided to forego animations on this app, something that happens to be common in Chinese mobile software in general.
Releasing stock apps onto the Play Store is an increasingly common practice to increase brand recognition. Google is the most notable player to do this, while others like Asus have done the same.
