ZTE’s upcoming budget phone will pack in 8 GB of RAM and a 4870 mAh battery

Yep, I had to double-take when I read this first. ZTE now has a new budget offering that just made it past China’s TENAA. Apparently, this device flaunts a variety of RAM variants and packs in some decent specs for a budget device.

Specs

  • 5.2-in 1280 x 720 TFT display
  • 1.4 GHz octa-core processor
  • 3/4/8 GB RAM
  • 32/64 GB Storage
  • Android 7.1.1 Nougat
  • Rear fingerprint sensor
  • 4870 mAh battery
  • Dimensions: 147 x 71 x 8.5 mm
  • Weight: 160 g
  • 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera

8 GB RAM on a budget phone is… well, interesting. While a large amount of RAM would mean that you can have more apps open in the memory, I am not sure about which processor this device sports. The device is a budget offering which definitely means that corners have to be cut somewhere, and it will be interesting to see which camera sensors and display vendors ZTE has chosen. However, that beastly 4,870 mAh battery is definitely something.
