Xiaomi to launch a new smartphone tomorrow: Here’s what we know

Xiaomi is launching a new smartphone series tomorrow, November 30th. The company is calling it “DeshKaSmartSolution,” which translates to “Country’s Smartphone.” The device is rumored to be priced at around $65.

The handset will feature a 5-inch HD display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, clocked at 1.4GHz, and coupled with 2GB of RAM. It will have 16GB onboard storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. It’ll also run an Android Nougat-based MIUI 9 skin and with a 4000 mAh battery on board.

It is most likely going to be a rebranded Redmi Note 5A, which was launched in China a month ago. The device is targetted at new smartphone buyers, and Xiaomi will be partnering with carriers to further reduce the cost for new consumers, say media reports.
