Google Play Books now offers audiobooks with Assistant and Cast support

Google updated its Play Books service to bring audiobooks to it with Google Assistant integration and casting support. Google now offers audiobooks at individual prices for anyone who wants to buy them. Purchased audiobooks are added to your library and can be shared via a family library with other Google accounts.

Casting integration lets the user launch a selected audiobook to a supported device for listening. The service also synchronizes your progress across all your devices, including your phone, Google Home units, and soon Android Auto. This means you can cast to a supported speaker at home, hop in your car, and continue right where you were without losing your place. The app lets you select audio playback speeds, set timers for snoozing, and rewind and fast-forward. Play Books is also running a few sales such as getting 50% off your first purchase.
