Android Wear is officially now Wear OS by Google

Just last week, there were hints that Android Wear would be rebranded as “Wear OS.” Well, today (via Reddit) that change has been confirmed.

As you can probably tell from the above screenshots, the Android Wear app has been renamed to “Wear OS by Google” and appears as “Wear OS” in your launcher. Opening the app for the first time, you’re greeted with a splash screen telling you about the change, and within the app, you’ll find that pretty much everything has just been given a fresh coat of paint. All of the settings and controls are the same, but they now feature Google’s Product Sans font and that awesome, blinding white background.

The version number is 2.10.0.188560295.gms, but it doesn’t appear to be a server-side rollout as I just sideloaded the new APK from APKMirror and received the rebrand immediately.
