Gboard can now float over apps

Gboard, apart from being a standard keyboard app that supports auto-correct and swipe typing, offers some features unique to it. It has Google Search integration, can help you learn Morse code, and will soon include smart replies for notifications. Adding to that list is a “floating” mode that lets it float over apps.

The app won’t be stuck to the bottom of the screen anymore. You can make it pop out, change its size, and move it around anywhere—kind of like picture-in-picture, but with a keyboard instead.

To enable it, just tap the Google Search icon, then the three dots, and then “Floating.”

The update is out with version 7.6.13 and you should already have the update. If not, as usual, you can grab it from APK Mirror.
