Apple Music beta v2.7 adds tablet support and a bottom navigation bar

Despite being an Apple product, Apple Music has started to integrate with Android much better now. It has partial Google Assistant integration and they previously made it work with Android Auto. Although Android tablets aren’t all that popular anymore, Apple Music will now support them.

Apple Music is privately testing the new features in version 2.7.0 beta. To get beta access, you need to get access to the Apple Music beta Google Group. Only after that, you’ll be able to get the beta on the Play Store.

The update

After the update, if you open the app, you’ll see that instead of the hamburger menu for navigation, it’s using a bottom navigation bar.

Also, if you’re one of the few using a tablet, you’ll see that it adapts to the tablet’s bigger screen. Here’s the best look I could get:

Below is the entire changelog of the new beta:

  • Tablet Support: Enjoy Apple Music with an experience designed for a wider range of Android devices.
  • Performance improvements for images and audio playback.
  • Various bug fixes.

How to get it

Getting access to the Apple Music beta Google Group could take quite a while. If you don’t wanna wait, you can download and install the beta from APK Mirror.

This addition may also mean that Chromebook support is coming. And while you’re at it, Apple, how about Chromecast and Google Home support please?
