Android Auto, Google’s solution to providing a driver-friendly interface on a car’s head unit, is set to get a design overhaul. This design overhaul will incorporate elements of Google’s Material Theme and come with a new dark theme.
YouTube Music v3.03 finally adds Android Auto support
Although YouTube Music aims to be the new, first-party music streaming service from Google, many features have been missing from the time it was revamped in the spring of last year. Most notable was Android Auto support, which even Apple Music beat YouTube to adding. However, with version 3.03, Android Auto support has finally arrived.

Google teams up with Renault, Nissan, and Mitsubishi to run Android on their future cars
Back at I/O 2018, Google put an Android Automotive setup on a RAM 1500 pickup that completely replaced the vehicle’s normal stock interface. You’ve probably used or at least heard of Android Auto which mirrors apps from an Android device to the car’s screen. However, it’s not actually full Android running on a car. Yesterday, Google just struck a deal with Renault, Nissan, and Mitsubishi to run Android-powered infotainment systems—like the one on the RAM 1500 pickup—starting in 2021.
Apple Music beta adds Android Auto support
Apple Music hasn’t been a great hit on Android. It doesn’t integrate well with Android like its competitors and it’s quite a buggy app. There’s no Google Home or Chromecast support yet, but Apple’s slowly getting it to integrate better with Android, and the next addition is Android Auto support.
