Every now and then Google pushes an update for its AR platform to add more features, improve the platform’s stability, or add support for new devices. Today, one of the most unexpected devices was added to the list: the recently released Acer Chromebook Tab 10.

It’s been 7 years since Chromebooks were first announced. I’ve seen Chrome OS grow first hand to what it is today, and I can see where it is going. Google Chrome will now use more RAM to fix the Spectre vulnerability
Spectre and Meltdown are catastrophic vulnerabilities that affected all modern processors. They were so severe that Intel decided to pay out a $100,000 bug bounty. Software patches for it are available, but they impact system performance. Google is fixing the vulnerability for Chrome, but it will make it use more RAM than ever before.

Fuchsia OS is now available for the Pixelbook
Google spent the last few years developing, investing in, and perfecting two primary operating systems. Chrome OS and Android run on billions of devices across the world and their popularity is rapidly spreading. Discovered in 2016, Google is officially creating a third operating system, Fuchsia.

Google is experimenting with a touchscreen-optimized version of the launcher in Chrome OS
Over the past couple months, Google has been refining Chrome OS and adding some welcome features to it. The latest findings are that Google is working on an entirely revamped launcher for Chrome OS—one built for touch.
Chrome OS will add a night mode in the near future
Chrome OS, the browser-based computer operating system, is finally getting a native night mode. Night mode, also known as a blue-light filter, helps your eyes and sleep, particularly when using your device at night or before bed, by giving your screen a yellow or red tint.

Android Apps on the Samsung Chromebook Plus
As an ardent fan of Google, its products and services, and of course its partners, I was ecstatic to see the Alphabet branch team up with Samsung to create and release a new and arguably amazing laptop-tablet hybrid earlier this year—the Samsung Chromebook Plus. Not only does this attractive piece of hardware run Chrome OS, it also has the native ability to download and install virtually any Android app from the Google Play Store.
