OnePlus 6 Review Part 2: Pocophone F1 Performance Comparison

Normally I would follow the first part of my review of the OnePlus 6 with a detailed breakdown of its performance as well as a software overview. But this year, Xiaomi has raised all of our eyebrows with a late entry, the Pocophone F1, to the market of the so-called flagship killers. This phone has had me very intrigued that I decided to pit it against its main rival, the OnePlus 6, in a separate test. In this article, we will discuss each phone’s merits and drawbacks in one of the most important aspects of a phone’s performance: UI fluidity, aka “smoothness.”

Xiaomi Poco F1 MIUI Bug Watch

I recently purchased the Xiaomi Poco F1, and I intend to use this device for the long-term. I am not a big fan of MIUI, and I come from Nitrogen OS, which is a custom ROM. When Xiaomi decided to open up a sub-brand, everyone thought it would be like OnePlus—a sub-brand of Oppo which runs their own ROM, Oxygen OS, which is stock Android with certain added features on top. This was a given, considering how Xiaomi said it would focus on speed.

Pixel 2 XL long-term review: Still the best… aside from its QC issues

Google’s second-generation line of Pixel phones have been out for about nine months now, and the Pixel 2 XL has been my daily driver now ever since. In nine months, the phone has certainly grown on me, and I can confidently say that it’s still the best, but that’s not without the fair share of issues I’ve had with it.
