Let’s face it: Google’s messaging strategy has been a mess ever since it’s inception. After several failed attempts, the company has gone ahead and published a blog post detailing its future plans in the messaging space, particularly with Messages, Duo, Allo, and Hangouts.
Google Assistant is fully integrated with WhatsApp but not with Allo
Google Assistant is really nifty when you want to get something done without using your hands. Using it to call or text someone on WhatsApp has always been a breeze, and the Google assistant recently added support for sending voice notes on WhatsApp as well. However, it still can’t send simple messages on Allo.

Everyone’s favorite chat app finally gets a desktop client
All jokes aside, Allo is actually a nice app, just one that is missing some big features. Earlier this year, we received some news that Google’s controversial messaging app, Allo, would be getting a desktop client sometime in the future—when, we did not know. But starting today, that change is finally here and here’s what the process is like.

Google Allo will soon sport a desktop client
The response for Allo hasn’t been at all great since it launched back in late September last year. However, Google’s VP of Communications Products has recently tweeted a picture of a functioning desktop client for Allo in development—one of the app’s biggest missing features compared to Hangouts.

The response to Allo has been… not so great, to put it lightly. It’s missing dozens of essential features and just adds to the number of messaging apps Google already has. However, over the past week or so, I’ve noticed a new layout in my “new message” interface.
