[Update: More information] Snapdragon 855 coming with a dedicated NPU and possibly a new name

AI is becoming increasingly popular. It spans from companies like Asus going crazy on the word for marketing to Google integrating it with every single product. With all the use of AI, the most popular SoC maker, Qualcomm, had to equip native support for it on their SoCs. That’s what it’s doing with the upcoming Snapdragon 855.

Future Pixels might use Google’s own processors

Just about everyone would love for Google to design their own chips for the Pixels. Qualcomm’s Snapdragons are great and all, but they only offer max 2-3 years of support and still fall short of the speeds of Apple’s processors. However, according to Variety, Google has just hired Manu Gulati, a key Apple chip architect, to build custom chips for the Pixels.
