Google set to launch its suite of hardware in India

With smart speakers gaining popularity in India after the introduction of the Amazon Echo, Google is following suit and is expected to launch its range of hardware, including the Google Home in India. The release is set for April 10, 2018, as reported by GSM Arena.

The invite doesn’t specifically state what the event will actually be about. However, the Google Home and Home Mini are almost certain to be released given Google India’s recent tweet:

Google Assistant support for local streaming services

The release of the Google Home seems to be further evident with the Google Assistant now supporting local streaming services like Saavn and Gaana in India. You can link your Saavn or Gaana account by heading over to the “music” section of Google settings.

A midrange Pixel?

According to a report published by the Economic Times, Google is also planning to launch a midrange Pixel. The release is said to be in July or August. In India, the Pixel range is much more expensive compared to its price in the US. This release may help Google boost its smartphone sales in India.

The possibility of Google releasing their other products like Google Wifi and the Pixelbook is also being explored.
