Pixel 3a and 3a XL show up on the Play Console and Google Store detailing specs

Google just can’t keep a secret anymore. The Pixel 3 and 3 XL had leaked a lot before their announcement. We had known almost everything about the phones from their design to their specs, and this time is no different for Google’s planned budget Pixel devices: the Pixel 3a and 3a XL. Make what you want of that name, but recently, they both showed up on the Play Console and the Google Store which could mean we’re getting closer to their launch.

The Google Play Console’s device catalog shows a list of devices supported for use with Google Play. It now includes listings for “sargo” and “bonito.” Earlier reports have pointed out that “sargo” and “bonito” are the codenames for the Pixel 3a and 3a XL respectively.

The listings confirm that both the devices will have 4GB of RAM and come with NFC. The Pixel 3a will have a screen resolution of 1080×2220 with a DPI of 440 whereas the Pixel 3a XL will have a screen resolution of 1080×2160 and a DPI of 400. Both of the phones may come in mid-2019 and Verizon support is likely. This is in line with previous leaks.

The Pixel 3a, alone, appeared on the Google Store too. When you click the “Phone” drop-down menu on the Google Store, a link to the Pixel 3a is listed. There’s also a “Google Pixel 3a Case” link. The case link goes to a page called “pixel_3a_case_fabric.” This could mean that Google’s fabric will also come to the Pixel 3a and 3a XL. Both the links are non-functional, however.

These recent listings could be pointing out that the devices’ launch is imminent. While we know a lot about the phones, we still don’t know which Snapdragon chipset they’ll come with and their pricing.
