Google survey hints at possible price tags of the Pixel 4a and 5

Earlier this week, new rumors suggested that Google might price its mid-range Pixel 4a, the 128 GB model, at $349, much cheaper than we originally thought. This not only puts it in contention with Apple’s newly released iPhone SE but also undercuts it by a substantial $100 margin. It all seems a bit too good to believe. But according to the latest evidence, Google might be really going for the jugular, at least when it comes to the mid-range market.

According to Reddit user u/Pop-Quiz_Kid, Google might have just confirmed the pricing of the Google Pixel 4a to be $349 in a recent survey. This ties in with 9to5Google’s recent suggestion, although it mentions that this is the price of the base model and not the 128GB one. Even more interesting, this alleged survey seems to confirm that the upcoming Pixel 5 will be priced at $699, although it is referred to as the “Premium Google Pixel” phone. This might hint at a new naming scheme Google might be thinking of.

This also ties in perfectly with the previously reported rumors that Google might be opting for the Snapdragon 765G instead of the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 865 chipset. While it is much more affordable than a $1000 flagship from Samsung or the $900 OnePlus 8 Pro, the OnePlus 8 might give it a good run for its money, which is priced exactly the same at $699. Still, the Pixel 5 could lure the customers with its top-notch software and exceptional camera capabilities. Let’s just hope it comes with an ultrawide lens on board this time.

The Pixel 4a is expected to be announced during Google’s Android 11 event on June 3rd, while the Pixel 5 is expected to launch in October like its predecessor. Here is a round-up of all the Pixel 4a rumors so far.
