Google Chrome has kept the same design for quite a while now, but Google is now making tweaks to it. After changing Gmail and Google Drive’s web-design to match the new Material Design, Google is doing it for Chrome too.
Update 6/5: Article has been updated to reflect the newer changes.
The changes
This isn’t a radical overhaul like Gmail’s design update was, but there are a few small changes:
1. The tab that shows the site details is rounded off and is slightly shorter in length than before. The overall tabs structure is brighter and more colorful. The URL view no longer shows “https://www.”
2. The right side gets the “new tab” button.
3. The options menu, however, gets a new material-looking design.
4. The downloads page uses rounded corners.
5. The Settings page uses the newer buttons and drop-down boxes giving it a clean look.
How can I get these?
You simply have to download the latest version of Chrome Canary which can be found here. After downloading it, go to “chrome://flags/” and enable “Use all upcoming UI features.”
