Google will now help you pick a college

Picking what college you should attend can get overwhelming and confusing. After all, it is an important step in preparing for the future. You have to consider many factors including tuition costs, financial aid possibilities, and acceptance rates. However, Google can now help you make that search much easier.

When you search for a 4-year U.S. college on Google, you’ll now be presented with aggregated data about the college. This data includes a comprehensive review of:

  • Acceptance and graduation rates
  • Majors offered
  • Costs after financial aid, including breakdowns by household income
  • Annual income after ten years of enrollment
  • Notable alumni
  • Similar colleges

Google uses public information from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard and Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) to source this data. Google has also worked with education researchers, high school counselors, and admissions professionals enhance the experience.

While Google makes it easier for you to get information on a college, your search doesn’t end here. Google does, however, include the average SAT/ACT scores for colleges, but they don’t include admission details and GPA requirements. You’ll still have to scour the college’s website for detailed information.
