Pixel and Pixel 2 users can try out the Pixel 3’s camera features with modded Google Camera app

The Pixel series have amazing cameras, and they are a class apart when it comes to photography on Android. However, if you have an older Pixel device, you won’t be able to use the newer features that debuted on the Pixel 3 and 3 XL. However, with a modded APK, you can access a lot of the newer features on your older Pixel device.

With this Google Camera port, Google Pixel 2 users also have access to HDR+ Enhanced, which improves color in extreme low-light conditions. You also get the new automatic FPS switcher feature on this APK. This lets the phone decide whether to record video 1080p at 30fps or 60fps, even switching between them mid-video. You also get the HEVC/h.265 toggle with this modded camera app.

However, if you have the original Google Pixel or Pixel XL, portrait mode works only on human faces. You also get an option for different versions of HDR and HDR+ for all three generations of Google Pixel devices.

The headline feature of the Pixel 3 series, Night Sight, also works across all Pixel devices now. You also get Photobooth, motion tracking autofocus, and real-time Google Lens Suggestions to the Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL with the modded Google Camera app.

The modded APK comes from XDA, and you can download it here.
