There are plenty of great things about the web, but there are an equal number of websites that try to abuse features present in web browsers in order to make you see ads or cause you frustration. One of these things is called “history fudging.” When you press the back button to leave a website, nothing happens or you are randomly hit with an ad, and you have to click it many times to truly leave.
According to changes in the Chromium Gerrit, Google will silently flag these malicious websites and send them to Google for analysis, essentially meaning that these pages will be de-ranked or removed entirely from Google search.
A new flag titled #enable-skip-redirecting-entries-on-back-forward-ui is going to arrive within the next few weeks on Chrome Canary, and with that you can try and test out this feature soon.
