One of these things is called “history fudging.” When you press the back button to leave a website, nothing happens or you are randomly hit with an ad, and you have to click it many times to truly leave.

Google Chrome v71 will block abusive ads entirely

Advertising in general on the internet has degraded in the last few years, with malware and scam-ridden popups on websites becoming a major issue. With many browsers adding AdBlock, Google Chrome is one of the late entrants in the ad-blocking enabled browsers. Starting with Chrome 71, which is expected to roll out to stable in December, Google will block all ads it deems “abusive” in nature.

Google rebrands its advertising suite in favor of more straightforward names

For an advertising company like Google, its advertising platform is of utmost importance to it, especially from a revenue perspective. This week, Google announced that it is making changes to its advertising product portfolio to offer advertisers a more streamlined set of products. They say that this will help the people who market products understand their audiences better. Google is retiring the AdWords and DoubleClick brands in favor of some new, more straightforward names: Google Ads, Google Marketing Platform, and Google Ad Manager.

The most recent version of the popular file-sharing app SHAREit has added lock screen ads in the guise of battery optimising software. This means that your lock screen is now hijacked by advertising that you probably don’t want on your phone. So for now, you should either stick to an older APK or move on to an alternative app. Also if you are like me, you can even grab a debloated APK.
