Google is testing crash and speed trap reporting in Maps

Waze has been a competitor to Google Maps for quite a while. In addition to simply routing you somewhere, Waze provides information about traffic, construction, police, crashes, and more in real-time. Google had bought Waze, but none of its features have been assimilated into Google Maps ever since. However, according to a report from Android Police, Google is testing crash and speed reporting in Maps, a subset of the features Waze offers.

Google Maps will now display your phone’s battery level when sharing your location

If you use your phone for navigation, chances are good that you rely on Google Maps for this purpose. No matter what app you use, your phone will lose a lot of its battery while providing you with turn-by-turn directions or sharing your live location with your friends or family. And if a charger is not around, your phone could eventually run out of juice. Inevitably, you can no longer share your live location with your loved ones, which can leave them quite worried about you.
