More than five dangerous Android apps seep into the Play Store yet again

According to APK Labs, more than five Android apps riddled with banking malware have made their way to the Play Store again. The apps, that come disguised as “RAM Boosters” or “System Cleaners,” are definitely good at cleaning out things—but they clean out your bank account instead. At the time of writing (11:20 PM/CT), one of the malware ridden APKs was still on the Play Store.

Google Chrome will now use more RAM to fix the Spectre vulnerability

Spectre and Meltdown are catastrophic vulnerabilities that affected all modern processors. They were so severe that Intel decided to pay out a $100,000 bug bounty. Software patches for it are available, but they impact system performance. Google is fixing the vulnerability for Chrome, but it will make it use more RAM than ever before.
