Today, Google just made its Titan security key available on the Google Store for $50. Now, instead of sending a two-factor authentication code (explained here) to your phone, you can use the security key when logging into Google, Facebook, Twitter, and other sites that support it.

According to APK Labs, more than five Android apps riddled with banking malware have made their way to the Play Store again. The apps, that come disguised as “RAM Boosters” or “System Cleaners,” are definitely good at cleaning out things—but they clean out your bank account instead. At the time of writing (11:20 PM/CT), one of the malware ridden APKs was still on the Play Store.

Spectre and Meltdown are catastrophic vulnerabilities that affected all modern processors. They were so severe that Intel decided to pay out a $100,000 bug bounty. Software patches for it are available, but they impact system performance. Google is fixing the vulnerability for Chrome, but it will make it use more RAM than ever before.

A group of security researchers from Ruhr University in Germany has revealed a security loophole in the end-to-end encrypted messaging app WhatsApp. They say that they plan on revealing similar flaws in apps such as Signal and Threema. The common thing here is that they all use the Signal protocol, made by Whisper Systems.
