More than five dangerous Android apps seep into the Play Store yet again

According to APK Labs, more than five Android apps riddled with banking malware have made their way to the Play Store again. The apps, that come disguised as “RAM Boosters” or “System Cleaners,” are definitely good at cleaning out things—but they clean out your bank account instead. At the time of writing (11:20 PM/CT), one of the malware ridden APKs was still on the Play Store.

These APKs seem to have come stamped from Google as well. “Stamped” APKs are pretty much “officially distributed by Google Play.” Generally, this means that APKs have been scanned as safe by Google. But this looks pretty bad on Google as most people affected by this would not understand the reason for being compromised. Also, it looks like there are multiple developer accounts that are uploading such APKs, which is the same theme as last time.
