YouTube’s Incognito mode finally arrives

The official YouTube app for Android recently just got updated with an Incognito mode this morning. The changes should be live in app versionĀ 13.25.56 or newer.

How to use it

To activate it, simply tap your profile picture and then “Turn on Incognito.”

And to leave it, just tap the Incognito icon and “Turn off Incognito.”

What this does

With Incognito mode enabled, all your search and watch history within the YouTube app will not be stored. Unfortunately, YouTube Premium benefits don’t work in this mode and age restricted videos still require age verification.

I guess some may say this is pretty pointless, but if you want to let your kid watch something on your phone without their videos messing up your recommendations, it can be pretty handy.

This is all great and all, but can Android please get its dark mode now, YouTube?
