Are the Google Pixel 3 XL leaks fake?

The Google Pixel 3 XL is probably the most leaked smartphone ever. Its hideous design has been attracting a lot of hate. However, there have been speculations that the leaks might be fake, and to add to that mess, there are reports that Google is gathering clips from YouTubers that thrash the company’s design team. Now isn’t that intriguing?

Did Google purposely leak a fake device to get attention? Are they generating hate and then proving it all wrong at launch? Are they going to walk up to the stage and say all the leaks were wrong? Why is Google collecting such videos? What exactly does Google have in store for us? Well, we won’t get answers until the official launch scheduled for October 9th. Till then we can only speculate.

Google recently sent out an email to the YouTube channel Front Page Tech asking for permission to use a specific clip from one of the channel’s videos. The channel has been pretty negative about the Pixel 3 XL leaks. In one of their recent videos, they claim that other “big” channels that posted unfavorable videos about the Pixel 3 XL were also contacted by the company to use clips from their videos.

In one case, Google also asked to use a clip where the YouTuber said that Google should fire their design team because the Pixel 3 XL looks so terrible.

Now, why would Google do something like this? What is Google doing by putting together all these clips? Are they putting together an introductory video to the event shaming all the leaks and then telling us everything was staged? Whatever it is, something’s seriously off about the entire situation.
