Telegram has just pushed another major update to its messaging service. This update changes the way we handle mentions, as we get a way to quickly browse through all the mentions that we receive in a group chat. We also get improvements on how stickers work, with ways to set a single sticker set for a group and have the ability to favorite certain stickers for quick and easy access.

We always love it when an app has built-in easter eggs, which each have their own unique style. Apparently, the developers at Ookla, who run speedtest.net, love their cats, and perhaps, hate them too, judging by the easter eggs present in the app. The same service is available as an app on the Play Store, which is linked below.

All jokes aside, Allo is actually a nice app, just one that is missing some big features. Earlier this year, we received some news that Google’s controversial messaging app, Allo, would be getting a desktop client sometime in the future—when, we did not know. But starting today, that change is finally here and here’s what the process is like.

Google Duo has certainly received less criticism than that of its sister-app, Allo. Of course, it’s not battling issues like “SMS fallback” and whatnot, and it’s still not perfect, but more or less, it’s definitely a solid app, and today, Google’s video calling application has crossed another milestone today—100 million downloads on the Play Store.

The new Skype Android app, version 8, is an absolutely horrendous update.
Just a couple days ago, a developer released a modded Pixel Launcher with a fully functional Google Now pane. We hinted that this might spread to other launchers in the near future, and quite sooner than expected, the one and only Nova Launcher is adding true Google Now integration in its latest beta update today.

Google’s “Pixel Launcher,” exclusive to their Pixel phones, brings a lot of unique features in a simple and beautiful interface. While you can easily download the APK to your device or customize Nova Launcher, the result was just not the same. Today, thanks to the work of developer AmirZ, a fully-functional version of the Pixel Launcher is now available for all of Android.
Google I/O is coming up in a couple of months, and I think now’s a fair time to discuss messaging in the Android ecosystem.

As an ardent fan of Google, its products and services, and of course its partners, I was ecstatic to see the Alphabet branch team up with Samsung to create and release a new and arguably amazing laptop-tablet hybrid earlier this year—the Samsung Chromebook Plus. Not only does this attractive piece of hardware run Chrome OS, it also has the native ability to download and install virtually any Android app from the Google Play Store.
