Google Pay finally gets support for boarding passes but only for one airline

Nearly six months after its replacement of Android Pay, Google announced some new features that are rolling out to Google Pay starting today.

Boarding passes and concert tickets

After years, Google has finally brought boarding passes to its native payment/wallet app… except it’s only available for one airline right now: Southwest. Google does say, however, that soon it will support Singapore Airlines and Vueling, but seriously, I do hope that a lot more get on board because that’s a pretty wimpy list right now.

In addition to boarding passes, you can now store your Ticketmaster tickets in Google Pay, and soon, you’ll be able to do the same with Eventbrite.

Send and request money

At launch, Google did promise that the Google Pay and Google Pay Send apps would merge at a later date, and here’s that: Google Pay Send is part of Google Pay.

Updated web app

Recently, the Google Pay web app at pay.google.com underwent some UI changes to make it resemble the mobile apps more. All your activity, cards, and info sync cross-platform.
