I recently purchased the Xiaomi Poco F1, and I intend to use this device for the long-term. I am not a big fan of MIUI, and I come from Nitrogen OS, which is a custom ROM. When Xiaomi decided to open up a sub-brand, everyone thought it would be like OnePlus—a sub-brand of Oppo which runs their own ROM, Oxygen OS, which is stock Android with certain added features on top. This was a given, considering how Xiaomi said it would focus on speed.

Google expands its Android Enterprise Recommended program to rugged devices

Android has always had an update problem. Google is trying to fix it with Project Treble and it’s worked out well so far. However, it still remains a concern for large businesses who don’t want security flaws. For them, Google launched an Android Enterprise Recommended program that guarantees at least three years of security updates. Today, Google expanded the program for rugged devicesĀ used in field services, warehouses, retail stores, and manufacturing plants.

Opinion: The Poco F1 is an excellent phone for the price but not a “OnePlus killer”

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you must have heard of the cheapest phone with a Snapdragon 845, the Poco F1. Launched in India for only ā‚¹21,000 ($300 USD), it’s generated a lot of hype and has been dubbed a ā€œOnePlus killer.ā€ While it is a pretty good phone for the price, I think calling it a ā€œOnePlus killerā€ is inaccurate.
