Google’s upcoming Chromebook tablet leaks

Not too long ago, a bug report on the Chromium Bug Tracker gave us a glimpse at what could be one of Google’s two new Chromebooks for this year. However, today, courtesy of About Chromebooks, we’re getting a better look at this Chromebook tablet model from Google.

Looking at the header image, we can make out a few things. Firstly, there’s a USB-C port on the bottom left. “Nocturne,” the code name for this potential Google-branded tablet, will have two USB-C ports, likely one on each side like it is on the original Pixelbook. Secondly, if you look closely, you’ll notice a pair of dual front-facing speakers.

Looking towards the top of the tablet, there appears to be a fingerprint sensor and a couple mics. The fingerprint sensor also looks to be in the exact location that Chrome Unboxed found in Chrome OS earlier this month:

It’s also worth mentioning that this Chromebook tablet is using a Brydge keyboard in the images. It’s expected to support AEC (acoustic echo cancellation), an 8th-generation Intel chipset, and pin-support for accessories à la iPad Pro. It will likely be unveiled on October 9th alongside the Pixel 3 and Google Home Hub.
